About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Lead SDET with strong expertise in Manual Testing, Automation Testing using Playwright, and hands-on experience in leveraging AI for testing activities. The ideal candidate will lead the testing efforts across multiple projects, mentor the QA team, design automation frameworks, and drive quality improvements using modern tools and AI-driven testing practices. This role demands both leadership capabilities and strong hands-on involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities for projects, ensuring high-quality delivery
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks with Playwright for UI and API testing
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing manually where needed
- Utilize AI-powered tools and techniques to optimize test case design, execution, defect detection, and reporting
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
- Conduct code reviews for automation scripts and ensure best practices in test automation
- Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, introducing innovative tools, AI models, and methodologies
- Mentor and guide junior testers in both manual and automation testing practices
- Monitor test coverage, report on quality metrics, and ensure timely bug identification and resolution
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards for software quality
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2+ years in a Test Lead capacity
- Strong experience in Manual Testing (functional, regression, integration, exploratory)
- Proven hands-on expertise in Automation Testing with Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript/Java)
- Experience in designing scalable automation frameworks
- Exposure to utilize and implement AI for testing tasks like Cursor, Co-Pilot, Mabl, ChatGPT, Gemini, Codey, Grok or similar
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring QA team members
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for testing environments.
- ISTQB/Agile Testing/Scrum Master or similar certifications.
